My goal is to ensure economic diversity in our community while also acknowledging the significant constraints we have, including being at the Wildland Urban interface with limited evacuation routes in and out of our valley as well as concerns around traffic congestion, air quality, and sufficient water supply.
A city that has high standards will get the highest quality results.
My goals with housing include:
True Affordability and not just “affordable” by state mandates.
Quality Over Quantity: Recent developments have added 153 multi-family units throughout Ojai. The number of increased housing units does not include hundreds of ADUs that have also been built. With these developments now on the horizon, we have now met our Regional Housing Needs Allocation (RHNA) number, which for the city of Ojai is 53. We can be proud of what we as a community have approved, but as your Mayor, I would promise to see impacts before moving forward and see how we can do better.
Address the unhoused population with proven models of success.
